Our Customer Base

Many of our customers are people who are either just starting to use computers for the first time, or those wanting to build on a basic knowledge. Some are business or professional people, who have always had staff to do their computer work for them so have never learnt to do it themselves.

Others are people, more senior in years, who feel they have missed out on the computer revolution that their children and grandchildren take for granted.
We also train many women, who have taken a few years out work, to raise their children. They need help to get up to date with current basic computer skills, and build their confidence to enable them to return to the workplace.

Most of these people feel uncomfortable learning in a classroom situation, concerned about not keeping up or looking stupid. Invariably, the computer they use in class is set up differently from their own home PC. This is where PC Basics comes in… PC Basics provides a personal one-to-one training service in the secure surroundings of the customer’s own home or office. Nowadays many people have their own personal fitness trainer visiting them - we become their personal computer trainer.

Initially our personal training course covers the basics of Microsoft Office and Using the Internet and Email. We also offer more advanced courses, covering spreadsheets, digital photography, music downloading, general computer support (including a help line) and simple computer maintenance.

This is more the type of service required by the second stream of our client base, proficient computer users who require ongoing support and technical assistance.
These are often people who already have a sound computer knowledge, but require assistance when they change their hardware, wish to have a wireless network system installed, buy a new camera, or want to learn a new application.

They may also call upon the PC Basics Technical Support Service from time to time, to give them peace of mind.
